Want to become a Community Partner?
If you would like to become an NHS Community Partner and support our students as an Internship Site Supervisor, Community Service Organizer, Volunteering Opportunity, Mentorship Program, Job Shadow or connect as a Career Speaker, all you need to do is fill out this Community Partner Interest Form. Any questions email Aaron Smith, NHS College and Career Counselor as he oversees all these programs.

100% Virtual and PAID Internships!!! - Work-Based Learning Alliance
We have updated our School Guide with information regarding the opportunities that will be on offer, how to register your students and key timelines.Our registration process remains the same for this coming year -- New schools who have not worked with us in the past are asked to complete the School Registration Form.
- All schools share the Student Registration Form, Family Information Letter and relevant program information sheets with students and families. The Student Registration Form is designed to be completed by the student with family guidance and support.
Given the high demand for our programming, we will continue to cap internship cohorts at 100 students and project cohorts at 50 students. Places will continue to be offered to students in order of registration.For those schools looking to register students for our Fall programming, please be aware that the deadline for students to complete their registration form is Friday 13 September.Once a registration deadline passes, schools will receive details of registered students and updates from our support team via our support@wblalliance.orgemail. Please also feel free to reach out at any time or set up a meeting using our Calendly. -
Community Partner Luncheon - Friday, Dec 13th from 11:30am-1pm
We would like to invite you to our Community Partner Luncheon. This gathering is for any current Community Partner and or those looking to become one with our Newburyport High School Community. Being a Community Partner could entail taking on Internship students, being a guest Career Speaker, Mentoring a student or being able to do a Job Shadow day for a student. Any type of support is always welcomed, and we look forward to getting together to enjoy lunch, hearing from current students and site supervisors of the Internship Program, as well as discussing how our Internship Program is structured. Sweet Paws Rescue Internship Programs
Development and Education internship: 2 available, 8 weeks, 4 to 8 hours per week; this is a hybrid opportunity with 2–4 hours per week in person either at our facility or at a local event- Support the Development team by performing online research, spreadsheet management, and analysis in support of sweet paws efforts to win grant funding and increase donations to support operations and special projects.
- Work with the Junior Rescue team to research and propose a design for a curriculum that will offer hands-on activities and education for elementary and middle school students and their families.
Marketing and Rescue Operations internship: 2 available, 8 weeks, 4 to 8 hours per week; this is a hybrid opportunity with 2–4 hours per week in person either at our facility or at local events.- Assist with fundraising programs, event planning, and development of marketing materials. Build skills in content creation, social media management, graphic design, and website design and edits.
- Learn about the behind the scenes work required to run an Animal Rescue including maintaining our animal care facility, transporting and caring for animals, and interacting with local Animal Control Officers, vets, and adopters.
