The Semester Schools Network represents nine single-semester boarding schools for high-achieving high school students.

Similar to college study abroad programs, students leave their home schools behind to attend a semester school, returning home with academic credit, out-of-classroom experiences, and a whole new worldview. The nine schools represented in the network have enrolled thousands of students from hundreds of high schools across the U.S. and world. Choose from semester schools located in big cities, small towns, mountains, forests, coasts and more.

      • Learn and develop outside of a traditional classrooms setting
      • Benefit from a unique curriculum tailored to your school’s setting
      • Stand out when applying to college
      • Build leadership, self-confidence & communication skills
      • Make friends from all over the country
      • See a new part of the world

    • ALZAR School & Gap Programs

Alzar School is a semester school that operates out of two campuses in Patagonia, Chile and Idaho. The Alzar semester is for motivated 10th and 11th grade students that combines engaging academics, cultural exchange, and outdoor adventure. Students live alongside their peers at our home campus in Idaho, immerse themselves in Chilean culture for six weeks in Patagonia, and explore incredible landscapes during backpacking and paddling expeditions. To learn more, please join Newburyport student and Alzar alumna  Josie Moore and Director of Gap, Lee Neale on January 18th during the afternoon block to hear more about the semester experience.
