Dual Enrollment at Endicott College: Introduction to Information and Computer Technology Class
The deadline to enroll in the next dual enrollment Endicott course is Friday, May 10th 2024. Salem State University Dual Enrollment Opportunity
I wanted to share another great opportunity this Summer and Fall for students who are interested in taking a dual-enrollment class. Newburyport High School is partnering with Salem State University for the first time, to allow five students to take free dual enrollment classes! Students that take and pass dual enrollment courses, also receive credit towards their Newburyport High School graduation requirements.
SPECIAL SUMMER COURSE SECTIONS AVAILABLE
Salem State University will be offering two special sections of courses at Salem State University during Summer Session I that are exclusive to Dual Enrollment students. The courses are being held on campus at Salem State University.
BHS 101 Healthcare in the US: This course introduces a student to the history, structure, and characteristics of the American healthcare system including the delivery of healthcare services, service settings, healthcare financing, insurance, and the roles and responsibilities of healthcare providers and professionals. Students will establish skills and knowledge needed to become more informed healthcare consumers and to comprehend the complexities of the current healthcare system, healthcare practice guidelines, and ethical practices.
May 22-June 29
Mondays and Wednesdays, 4:30-7:30 pmPHL 224 Environmental Ethics: This course will incorporate a survey of the philosophical issues and methodological assumptions employed in the developing field of environmental ethics with a study of the ethical issues raised by the current environmental movement. Some of the issues to be discussed will be the moral status of animals and our natural environment, pollution, population, hunger, energy, our obligation to future generations and the just distribution of scarce resources.
May 22–June 29
Mondays and Wednesdays, 4-7 pmEligibility:
• A minimum high school grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 is required to participate
• Approval from the student’s guidance counselor/school official is required
• An overall college GPA of 2.0 or higher (for Salem State) is required to remain eligible for dual enrollment participation in subsequent semester(s)
Cost and Transportation: Students who are accepted in the dual enrollment program will have their tuition and fees waived by the university for a maximum of one class per semester. Students will be responsible for textbooks and instructional materials as well as any additional classes.
Students will also be responsible for transportation to Salem State University, if they choose to take classes in-person. Online classes are an option for students who prefer this learning option.
