If you've worked with Sweet Paws Rescue already, thank you! If you don'talready know us, Sweet Paws Rescue is an all-volunteer animal rescue organization located in Groveland, MA. We are so excited to introduce you to our High School Volunteer program!About every 2 weeks Sweet Paws brings a new group of puppies and kittens up from our Southern rescue teams. Please come earn service hours by helping us with cleaning, stocking, and setting up!This year we're happily expanding the program that allows 16 and 17 year olds the opportunity to earn a spot in our puppy volunteer program. If you complete 3 "ISO Shifts" you will be invited to attend Dog Team training and will be able to join that team to help care for arriving puppies! We are also so excited that Barktoberfest is back! On October 19th we will host our biggest annual fundraiser at Spencer-Pierce-Little Farm in Newbury and we need LOTS of volunteers to help make it a successful event.
"ISO Shifts" will generally be every two weeks on Thursdays before transports from 6-8pm and the following Tuesday from 6-8.Please be sure that you provide a personal email when you sign up andcheck it often as we add special volunteer opportunities as projects pop up!If you're ready to volunteer for upcoming events, SIGN UP HEREAll volunteers are required to complete a WAIVER (please have a parent complete it if you are under 18)Junior Rescue Team

·Make a tangible impact by fulfilling the wishes of children facing life-threatening illnesses.
·Build lasting friendships with peers from diverse backgrounds.
·Enhance public speaking abilities and boost self-confidence.
·Accrue volunteer and community service hours with school approval.
·Network with local business professionals for future academic and professional opportunities.
If you believe any of your students would be a good fit for the YLC, we kindly request your assistance in spreading the word about this opportunity. Additional details on benefits, requirements and application can be found HERE.

We need a group of volunteers to help during the day on December 28th and/or 29th with a year-end cleanup of our facility in Groveland. We are gearing up for our next transport of rescued puppies and kittens in January and could really use some help getting things ready! Port Parks Alliance - Community Service Project
Port Parks Alliance non-profit group is in the process of initiating research of the history behind the 27 different parks in Newburyport. We are putting together a 4-6 member group, made up of some adult citizens and would like to invite 2 HS students to be included as a community service project. The specific aim is to conduct this research mostly from local library archives, historical society or other possible sources. The purpose of this undertaking is to compile this information to educate the community in how these locations have come to be known/designated as parks. At a recent community event, we found a real active interest in having this information compiled. Our plan is to start by taking on research for 4-6 parks and seeing how they go. If there is more interest from HS students, we could consider expanding the group. Please feel free to contact me at 978-337-6554 with any questions. -
