    Hey NHS, let's all wish Bay Schumacher good luck in his northeastern junior district band concert, tomorrow morning! Bay is the sole representative from Newburyport in a district of 60 schools, and this is his second consecutive year of earning this privilege. 

    And for a bonus, Mr. Cohen's son is the sole representative from Triton in his first attempt at district band. Congratulations Bay and Mr. Cohen!

     

    For any student who has been asked to participate in today's pep rally, there will be a brief meeting in the cafeteria at the end of G Block to take attendance and go over the pep rally agenda.

     

    Sophomore semi tickets are on sale today until Wednesday March 19th! They are $15 dollars for sophomores and $20 dollars for all other grades. Get tickets during your lunch or in the morning in room 228!

     

    To all juniors that played a sport this year: please be sure to order your free boosters sweatshirt during lunch today: This is for juniors only

     

    Want to go to Europe next year? We have two exciting trips planned. Check your school email for an invitation to the travel information meeting on March 19th. Space is limited to RSVP right away! Have questions? Stop by the College & Career center

    Are you interested in representing your class in the upcoming Pep Rally Obstacle Course? If so, meet with Mr. Pace TODAY in Room 342 at the start of Clipper Block. The meeting will last approximately 10–15 minutes. Please sign up in Enriching Students or obtain a pass to attend. Class officers are encouraged to attend, as additional aspects of the pep rally will also be discussed.

  • Tuesday, March 11        Day 3   

    Are you interested in a nursing career? Do you want to gain insights and information about the nursing profession? The red cross club is hosting a speaker with 23 years of nursing experience at Mass General Hospital. To attend, use enriching students to sign up for the red cross speaker event: this Wednesday during Clipper Block in the college and career center. 

    The NHS Yearbook will meet today after school in room 340.

     

    "The Investment Club meets right after school today in the College and Career Center. Today's presentation will be about common mistakes that new investors make, and how to avoid them."

    Spring Sports Registration Closes on March 9th – please register ASAP

    Attention Newburyport high school! IF YOU are interested in joining the CLIPS Leadership Mentor program next school year, applications are being accepted. Swing by the library and grab an application and apply today! Application deadline is , Monday April,21st

     

    Today during Clipper block there will be a concert performance in the auditorium by the Roebling piano trio. If you are interested, and of course you're interested, sign up for Mr. Cohen's Clipper block, check in for attendance, and then head up to the performance. You will love it!

    Today is the last day to turn in your travel photograph for the upcoming travel photography exhibit which will premiere on April 2nd during the International Cultural Festival. Open to all students and staff. 

    Next week is Spirit Week! The themes are USA on Monday, Celeb dress up or a jersey on Tuesday, Gray outfit  on Wednesday, Pajamas on Thursday and School Colors on Friday for the pep rally! There will also be penny wars going on all week as well as popcorn being sold by the Student Council on Wednesday during all three lunches.

    Only 2 days left to turn in your travel photograph and participate in 3rd annual travel photography exhibit open to all students, teachers and staff! Ms. Maconi sent you an email on Monday with instructions on how to participate. go check it out! submissions close at the end of the day Friday.

    This month's Poetry Soup will be this Wednesday, March 5, starting at 7:15 pm in room 118. Our guest speaker will be the amazing Harlym 1-two-5. Everyone is invited to attend and get inspired.

    Springs Sports Registration is open – please register ASAP

     

    Join us for an exciting adaptation of the production, “The Merchant of Venice” put on by the NHS theater department. The show displays a classical Shakespearen performance now in the setting of the 1960’s. The show is 40 minutes long, Today at 3:15  There is no cost, but donations are appreciated. Additionally, they will be performing this show at St. John’s prep as part of a statewide theater competition. So cheer them on and break a leg to all of the members of the cast and crew.

     

    Seniors you have a chance to proof your entry for this year's yearbook, please see the list posted outside of 245 for the window of time you may proof your entry and photo. This will be the only time this is available. Students should see Mrs LeBlanc during lunch block or at the start or end of the day.

    Junior Prom tickets are on sale this week in the cafe during all three lunches. Prom will be held on March 28 at Atkinson Country Club. Cost is $70 for NHS Juniors and $85 for any other students. We can take cash, check, or Venmo. Friday will be the last day you will be able to purchase your tickets.

    The mock trial team will be participating in regionals on Sunday for the first time, good luck!
