NHS Principal Communications - March 15, 2024

Friday night was opening night for Legally Blonde. I want to wish the cast, crew, directors, and families well on a successful production of the show. If you are not able to make it tonight, you will have 4 more opportunities across this weekend and next.

Also, I'd like to commend our students and staff for their participation in Spirit Week. Each day had a theme with various activities to help break up the typical routine of the school week. Thank you to the members of the student council and advisor Nadine Holohan for their hard work on making this happen. Additionally, I'd like to thank Richie Pace and all of the students and teachers who had roles in today's pep rally. As always, our model fan leaders, Owen Kreuz, Duncan Coir, and Eli Raymond did a great job increasing the energy. The obstacle course was a lot of fun, and it's clear that Mr. Sturma, Ms. Archie, Mr. Cole and Ms. Solazzo are not to be reckoned with on the basketball court.

CONGRATULATIONSANDGREATJOB

Last week, the Human Rights Commission held its annual Peace Prize Ceremony. I'd like to extend congratulations to Priya Kaur and Michelle Seznec who both received this year's award. Both students have made tremendous contributions in our ongoing work to increase a sense of belonging and inclusivity across our school.

I'd like to commend all of the students who participated in last week's International Cultural Night. This was quite the undertaking and our students were able to help those in attendance celebrate and experience different cultures. I'd also like to commend the following students who presented their Senior Capstone Projects for the Global Citizenship Certification Program. They are the trailblazers for this program and did an exceptional job. I'm looking forward to more students completing this program in the years to come.

Students Completing the Global Citizenship Certification Program:

Shannon Brock, Sophia Franco, Zoe Kakuba, Bridgette Mellet, Brela Paveo, and Alex Sullivan.
