Currently, 12 of our students along with chaperones, Aileen Maconi and Catherine Taggart are participating in the Youth Global Leadership Summit in Germany. This conference and competition divides our students into teams with other participants from across the US and 26 other countries. Using the Design Thinking Process, these teams worked to create a prototype to help address an area of sustainability. Miles Zuercher’s team won the event and their prototype will now be on display at the Nobel Peace Prize Museum in Stockholm. Congratulations, Miles as well as the following students who also earned accolades.

Aiya Al Kahib, Piper Allard, Abrianna Cronstrom (Finalist), Sophia Franco, Maddie Green, Declan Hochheiser, Zoe  Kasekende Kakuba, Bridgette Mellet, Aayeh Mimouni (Finalist), Brela Pavao(Finalist), Alexandra Sullivan

The German American Partnership Program will be happening this school year. In the fall, students from our partner school in Germany will be visiting our school and staying with students part of the program. In June, our students will then travel to Germany to experience their schools and culture. Thank you to Spencer Wolf for coordinating this experience.

ICELAND - Dr. Hobbs and members of the science department will be taking a couple dozen students to Iceland over the February vacation. During this trip, students will be able to explore the geothermal wonders of the island from its hot springs and volcanic craters. They will also examine the subarctic fauna and hopefully be able to see the Northern Lights.

HAWAII - Ms. Moran and several of our staff will be taking close to 30 students to Hawaii in April. During the trip, students will gain an understanding of the geological formation of the islands and become immersed in the culture. They will visit the memorials and museum at Pearl Harbor.

Come early winter, trips for the 2024-25 school year will be announced.
