NHS Principal Communications - April 13, 2023

Hello Clipper Families,

With vacation around the corner, our Clippers have not slowed down in their efforts to support the community. Additionally, our students are making strong progress in developing their academic skills.  In grade 9, students continue to use their binder system to support their organizational skills and prepare for their end-of year projects.  All 10th graders are gearing-up for their sophomore exposition through their English and History Classes.  Many of our Juniors are using feedback to put final edits to their History Argumentative Research Essay.  And as for our seniors, they are down to their final weeks and many have wrapped up the Civics Action Research Project.

Please see below for student happenings and other updates including:

  • 1:1 iPAD Program – Brief Video from Mr. Masi on how the iPAD has enhanced his instruction and supported student products
  • Update from the College and Career Center

Have a great night and Go Clippers!

1:1 iPAD Program

Plum Island Beach Clean-up

Last week, over 70 students participated in the beach clean-up at Plum Island organized by Nolan Smith and ACES. It is very exciting to have so many students spending time to support our community.

As a reminder, students earn 2.5 credits for every 75 hours of logged community service.  Additionally, participating in service activities is a great way to meet other students.

Rotary Fashion Show and the Interact Club

Also last week, students Abriana Cronstrom, Alex Sullivan, Ava Moran, Claudia Cummings, and Emily Kate Slocum supported the Newburyport Rotary Club at their annual fashion show. These students are part of the Interact Club, which is our largest student organization.  It consists of over 150 students who participate in a variety of service events across the school year. This is a great club for students to become a part of and make new friends.
