NHS Principal Communications - December 13, 2022

Hello Clipper Families,

Congratulations to our music program.  They provided a spirited concert last night and I want to commend all the students of the band and orchestra as well as Mr. Cohen on the work they put in to make last night a success.

Also, kudos to our National Art Honor Society for their successful auction this past weekend.  It is always impressive to see the creativity of our students on display.

Please see below for updates and happenings regarding the high school.

  • Dec 14 Environmental Open House - Opportunity for students to network
  • 1:1 iPad Lease to Own Program Presentation - Tonight (6:00 PM) @ NHS
  • Spring Endicott College Course - Forensic Science
  • Other Reminders

ENVIRONMENTAL OPEN HOUSE – WED. DURING CLIPPER BLOCK

Students will have the opportunity to network with program and project coordinators from many areas of the environmental sector.  This will be a great opportunity for students to practice their networking skills while learning about internship, service, and work opportunities available to them in the environmental area.  Interested students can sign-up for the event in their Enriching Students App.  Here is a flyer with more information.

1:1 IPAD LEASE TO OWN PROGRAM PRESENTATION – TONIGHT AT 6:00 PM

Tonight at NHS, Mr. Gallagher and I will provide an overview of the 1:1 Lease to Own Program using the iPad Air along with the Logitech keyboard case with trackpad and Apple pencil.  NHS math teacher Kevin Sheridan will demonstrate how this powerful educational tool can change the way your child learns and NHS teachers teach. From digital organization (no more lost papers!) to multimedia creation (video-based assessments!) to real-time collaboration (connect with teachers and peers!), the iPad Air with keyboard and pencil is an excellent investment for every family.

ENDICOTT COLLEGE SPRING COURSE – FORENSIC SCIENCE

We are excited to offer Forensic Science for our spring semester Endicott College Class.  This will be an engaging course for participating students, and also of note the professor is a Crime Scene Investigator for the Massachusetts State Police Department

Here is a link for more information about the class.  As a reminder Dual Enrollment allows a student to earn high school and college credit concurrently.
