Over the course of the 2021-22 school year, students in Dr. Tom Abrams Perspectives for Leadership and Change course were taking on the Invent2 Prevent challenge.
Invent2 Prevent, administered by the US Department of Homeland Security, challenges young people to invent solutions to prevent violence. Students create products, tools or initiatives to address hate-based violence.
The Newburyport team was invited to the finals and presented their programs on June 21st in Washington, DC. Students Keenan Jackson, Leela Kowalski, Anna Fortier, and Isabella Guido represented the class and gave an excellent presentation that earned them a second place prize.
Congratulations to Dr. Abrams' students who worked collaboratively throughout the year to help address real-world challenges!
