All Newburyport resident students may ride the bus with a registered bus pass. Only some students qualify for free transportation.

Yes. All students must register annually to ride the bus, regardless of eligibility.

• Students currently enrolled in the district (Grades 1–12) register online through MySchoolBucks
• Incoming Kindergarten students and new enrollments must complete a paper registration form and submit it to Central Office

$300 per student for the first 2 students in a family.
$100 per additional student.

This fee helps offset a portion of the cost of providing bus transportation, however does not cover the full cost of operating the bus program.

Registrations received after the deadline:

• Will incur a $50 late fee
• The late fee applies to all registrations submitted after the deadline, including those for students eligible for free transportation
• May be placed on a waitlist
• Transportation is not guaranteed and may not be available at the start of the school year

Transportation for students who do not qualify for free transportation is provided on a space-available basis and is not guaranteed.

Bus fees are non-refundable and not prorated.

No. Only full-year, round-trip bus passes are available.

No. Students must ride their assigned bus only.

Bus service is provided to centralized stops. Door-to-door service is not available, and stops are generally located on public ways.

If your address changes, transportation eligibility and bus assignment may change. Please notify the district and your student's school office as soon as possible.
