School Committee

Membership of the Newburyport School Committee consists of the Mayor, who serves as chair, and six members elected at-large for a term of four years. Beginning in January 2026, the School Committee will typically meet on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month during the school year (exceptions for holidays and/or vacation weeks).To email all School Committee members: sc@newburyport.k12.ma.us

Open Meeting Laws

On September 28, 2017, the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Division of Open Government announced finalized amendments to its regulations governing the interpretation and enforcement of the Open Meeting Law, M.G.L. c. 30A, §§ 18-25 (hereinafter, “OML”). These amended regulations, codified at 940 CMR 29.00-29.11, go into effect on October 06, 2017.
