Newburyport is proud to have two programs for students to participate in Special Olympics.

The Junior Clippers team for children ages 8 - 15 provides athletic opportunities in three sports: soccer, basketball, and track and field.

The Newburyport High School Clippers team for students in grades 9-12 provides opportunities in two sports: soccer and basketvall.

Both teams compete at a local and state level. The teams provide sports competition and training to the athletes at no cost due in part to generous donations from local businesses including the Newburyport Five Cents Savings Bank.
