Requirement

Newburyport High School requires that all students complete 4 years of study in History/Social Sciences.

The History/Social Sciences Department has implemented The Massachusetts History and Social Science
Curriculum Framework – a statewide guideline for learning, teaching, and assessment in history and social
sciences for the Commonwealth’s public schools – as accepted by the Board of Education in August 2003. All
students must follow the sequence of required courses listed below.
