“The Masthead” website is a site for and by Newburyport High School students, that allows them the experience of “real” journalism. Students venture into aspects of newspaper writing including; reporting, interviewing, and layout, as well as journalistic ethics. Newburyport High School journalism students investigate school issues as it relates to the world around them, integrating their school "world" with the Newburyport community at large. The goal of these students is to develop their skills in media to show in writing their interpretation and relationship of the society around them. Finally, Newburyport High School students will use these developing media skills when they enter further education and the adult world.
