STRATEGIC PLAN 2016-2021

Newburyport Public Schools
Strategic Plan 2016-2021

In September 2015, Superintendent Susan L. Viccaro convened a large group of stakeholders who embarked on the development of a new 5 year strategic plan. The 25 member team:

  •  Identified key district beliefs and values;
  • Developed a mission statement unique to Newburyport;
  • Defined the boundaries within which the organization will accomplish its mission;
  •  Identified district strengths and weaknesses;
  • Created the organizational design that details the arrangement of activities and relationships among people within an enterprise;
  •  Reviewed internal and external variables that impact the schools; and
  • Developed objectives, strategies and action plans that will chart the course of the district for the next 5 years.

The result is the Strategic Plan outlined below that will steer the Newburyport Public Schools from 2016-2021.
